Derby Daze

All of the boys with their cars. After it was all over. Mohawk boy won the grand champion.

What a collection of cars. DJ's is the second from the left in the front row (the blue baja truck.) Breanna's is to the right of DJ's (the purple one with all of the red fingernail polish.) Dylan's is the third from the right in the back row (the green one with the yellow headlights.) The Spongebob car and the red fire truck won overall, something smelled very fishy. ( Now I feel guilty because I promised myself that I wouldn't use my blog to vent. Dan says I'm niave and the real world is full of mean people. Leave me out of the real world then. I only want to play with nice people. )

Dan was a good sport and ended up doing WAY more than his share of car work. Thank you honey. This is weighting cars the morning of the derby. We had kids at our house at 8:00 the night before with Dan helping them build cars. At least they got to be part of it.

DJ in his first race. We lost :( The only consolation is that this kid actually did build his own car, he took second in our den.

Dylan in his first race. We lost again :( At least it was to a worthy opponent. Chris is one of my favorites in our den. He is very cute.

Over all I was very proud of our den. There were 17 scouts at the derby, 11 of them were from my den. We only had 3 boys from our den that didn't race with us. The whole room was our boys and they worked hard and played hard.
